With a grant of $260,000 from Greater Texas Foundation, The Aspen Institute will engage eight exceptional, diverse Texas leaders in the Aspen Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence over the next two years. The fellowship aims to develop a cadre of leaders who can transform community colleges to achieve higher levels of student success while maintaining broad access. A select group of exemplary aspiring community college leaders participate in a year-long program that includes three in-person residential seminars, structured mentoring by experienced community college presidents, and the development of a strategic leadership vision through a capstone project. Aspen Presidential Fellows will acquire strategies, tools, and the self-reflective orientation needed to achieve transformational change. Moreover, they will form a national community of like-minded leaders who can support each other and collectively shape the field over the next 20-30 years.
