Greater Texas Foundation is pleased to announce a $300,000 grant to EMERGE to help more high achieving low-income students in the Houston region connect with selective colleges and while guiding them to on-time completion with minimal debt. This grant builds upon previous work GTF supported at EMERGE, to enhance partnership building and stewardship with in-state instituions and provide matriculation and persistence support for students. This grant will support EMERGE’s work with 1,300 students who are attending or will attend Texas colleges and universities. EMERGE currently supports over 3,200 students across five school districts and 150+ colleges and universities nationwide. In the longer term, they will use outcomes and learning from this grant to build a roadmap to influence college advising and college persistence supports across the state.
