Grant Announcement: Academic Advisers Adapting to COVID-19

With a $349,979 grant from Greater Texas Foundation to Sam Houston State University, the Center for Assessment, Research, and Educational Safety (CARES) will conduct a study on the ways academic advising in Texas must change as a result of COVID-19. Research questions for this study include: 1) What has and has not worked well about institutional COVID-19 response for academic advisers in Texas? 2) What elements of academic advising have and have not been effective during the pandemic? 3) What are new factors academic advisors must look for in students during a pandemic? and 3) In which ways must academic advising transform following the current pandemic?
