Grant Announcement: Busting Barriers with the Dallas Promise Network

The Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) will evaluate the impact of the Dallas Promise Network with a $200,000 grant from Greater Texas Foundation. The network, the first of its kind in the state, is a collaborative effort between DCCCD, Dallas ISD, and University of North Texas at Dallas designed to improve educational outcomes in Dallas County by providing a last-dollar scholarship, matching students with success coaches and mentors, tracking student progress and outcomes, and providing or partnering to provide all other resources needed by students so they can stay in college and complete a credential. An in-depth case study led by Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab, founding director of Temple University’s Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice, will help network leaders understand what strategies are working well and how the partnership can be improved.
