Grant Announcement: Sam Houston ELITE and Evolve

Sam Houston State University will enhance its ELITE and Evolve programs serving male students of color and female transfer students with a $251,139 grant from Greater Texas Foundation. SHSU’s ELITE program was created to address the lower rates of retention and graduation of undergraduate minority males on its campus. ELITE’s success, and the demand from incoming students and increasing female enrollment at SHSU, prompted the development of Evolve to provide similar services to female undergraduate transfer students. This grant will allow these two programs to grow in size and scope by supporting expanded outreach to potential participants.
