With a $555,402 grant from Greater Texas Foundation, University of Houston-Downtown will support United for College Success (UFCS), a statewide collective action coalition serving students from low-income families. Starting in August 2020, University of Houston-Downtown will be the college partner and home for UFCS, which will develop programs and system-level practices and support frameworks that address college matriculation, persistence, and graduation challenges for students from low-income families. Through University of Houston-Downtown’s involvement in the coalition, UFCS will be better equipped to innovate on student support practices and scale and share these innovations with future university partners.
