Grant Announcement: Transforming First Generation Student Success in Central Texas

Breakthrough Central Texas provides a path to and through college for students who will be first in their families to earn a college degree. A $300,000 grant from Greater Texas Foundation will support Breakthrough in launching a new strategy to scale its positive impact on students. Breakthrough will pilot a new school-based model, combining targeted mentoring for students with capacity-building services for high school staff and leaders. Thoughtful implementation and replication of the model is expected to significantly impact college graduation rates in Central Texas, potentially doubling the rate of postsecondary success for students from Title I schools.
