Greater Texas Foundation makes charitable contributions to organizations that:
- are tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or are an accredited college or university;
- support the mission of the foundation through Texas-based or Texas-focused work;
- support or provide specific programs targeting education in furtherance of Greater Texas Foundation’s exempt purposes, mission, and vision.
We strongly encourage applicants to review the foundation’s strategy. Along the pathway from high school through completion of postsecondary education, the largest numbers of students are lost between postsecondary enrollment and completion. In fact, only 1 in 5 Texas youth who enter high school complete a postsecondary degree or credential. By supporting successful student transitions from high school to postsecondary education and facilitating the progression from postsecondary enrollment to completion, GTF will impact the most students and work toward closing the education gap in Texas. For this reason, the foundation supports programs and services that increase rates of postsecondary preparation, access, persistence, and completion for all Texas students, with a particular focus on students who may encounter barriers to postsecondary success.
