Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) announced Sue McMillin will serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of the organization. Ms. McMillin has extensive experience in the financial services sector, having held leadership positions in both for-profit and non-profit organizations.
“Ms. McMillin has a proven track record of effective leadership, a deep understanding of her field, and a passion for supporting students. We are confident she will move our organization forward as we work to ensure all Texas students are prepared for, have access to, persist in, and complete postsecondary education,” said Ralph Rushing, GTF Board Chair.
“I am honored to join Greater Texas Foundation and its outstanding team and board of directors. GTF’s focused commitment to Texas and its students is widely respected. I look forward to leading the foundation in its efforts to improve education outcomes across the state,” Ms. McMillin said.
Ms. McMillin received her Bachelor of Arts from St. Edward’s University. She served as an assistant vice president and vice president at Guaranty Bank in Austin, Texas beginning in 1984. Subsequently, she spent 20 years at Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TG), serving as President and CEO for over 10 years. Most recently, she was the Principal and Managing Consultant for Iolite Consulting Services. She is active in the non-profit community as a member of the board of directors for the United Way of Williamson County as well as the Southwestern University Board of Visitors.
Ms. McMillin will begin her tenure at the foundation on September 18, 2017.
