Austin Partners in Education (APIE) will implement a Career Launch Program Partnership at Akins High School in Austin ISD with a $450,000 grant from Greater Texas Foundation. APIE will deliver its college readiness programming to Akins students in the 9th and 10th grades, pilot an approach to extend college readiness programming down to the middle school level, and coordinate with Akins’ partner employers to provide career-focused mentoring for students. Additionally, APIE will develop and disseminate a detailed toolkit for implementing effective Career Launch/P-TECH programs.
