Grant Announcement: College Success Services, Latino Students, Rural Students, Texas

The Middle Math Matters professional development project will expand with an $865,963 grant from Greater Texas Foundation to The University of Texas at Tyler. Through a new collaboration with Sam Houston State University and Stephen F. Austin State University, 105 middle and high school mathematics teachers who work in East Texas rural and small-town schools will receive training in highly effective instructional practices. Through teachers’ changes in beliefs, practices, and content knowledge, student attitudes and performance in mathematics will improve, resulting in greater preparation for postsecondary education.
