Students participating in the Dallas County Promise program will receive an added layer of support as they prepare to enter college thanks to the Promise Champions Initiative. Managed by Big Thought, the Promise Champions Initiative ensures all high school seniors in the Dallas County Promise program are matched with a volunteer Champion who provides mentorship and guidance throughout the college application and enrollment processes. Big Thought piloted this model in 15 high schools in the DFW area with support from Greater Texas Foundation. This grant will continue support for the program in pilot high schools and expand to surrounding schools in an effort to increase the number of Promise Seniors enrolling in college.
