Grant Announcement: Genesys Works College Success Model

Genesys Works will improve transfer outcomes for low-income, minority, and first-generation youth with a $165,000 grant from Greater Texas Foundation.

Genesys Works provides pathways to career success for high school students in underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experience, and impactful relationships. Their services include an alumni program, which provides support for students as they pursue a postsecondary credential. Funds from GTF will support the development of a college transfer playbook, predictive analytics system, and virtual transfer tool, as well as the addition of an advisor focused solely on guiding students through the transfer process. With these program enhancements, Genesys Works will provide more robust and comprehensive transfer support, reduce the amount of time and expense needed for students to successfully transfer, and help to increase the number of students in Houston who earn a degree.
