Greater Texas Foundation announces a grant in the amount of $160,000 to Texas A&M University in support of their project, GTF TAMU Advising Corps 2.0.
The grant supports Texas A&M’s Advise TX program, which provides two full-time college advisers to Bryan High School and Rudder High School. These advisers elevate each school’s college-going culture by offering individual advising sessions; leading campus visits to universities and colleges; hosting college fairs; and providing opportunities for students to prepare for the SAT and ACT, apply for financial aid, identify scholarships, and complete college applications. Through these activities Advise TX advisers supplement the work of Bryan ISD counselors to increase the number of students applying to and attending their best-fit college or university.
