Grant Announcement: More Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) Students Will Participate in the Successful Work4College Program

More Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) students will participate in the successful Work4College program through a $470,000 grant from Greater Texas Foundation. W4C allows students the opportunity to earn their degree at NTCC by connecting them with jobs on campus and paying a wage that is split evenly between students’ personal use and a fund for tuition. To date, the program has served 216 students, 96% of whom have enrolled in college classes, and 79% have left NTCC debt-free. With this grant, NTCC intends to extend the opportunity to area high schools, including a new early college high school; establish a near-peer mentoring service for W4C participants; and expand the program’s capacity and sustainability for the long term.
