The Urban Education Institute at The University of Texas at San Antonio will support improvement and expansion of The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s AI advising communication tool, ADVi, with a $262,131 grant from Greater Texas Foundation. ADVi is a chatbot with two-way texting capabilities and has a dedicated team of advisors monitoring and responding to questions from students and pushing out college-going resources and reminders. This grant will expand ADVi’s statewide reach by leveraging The Urban Education Institute (UEI) team’s experience in qualitative research and in improvement science, as well as their access to school, district, and education-focused community organization leaders in the San Antonio area.
